Sending scheduled SMS text messages automatically is important and convenient to many of us, but iPhone’s stock Messages app does not offer this feature. Moreover, Apple’s makes this a tricky task because of its restrictions. Fortunately for jailbreak users, some available tweaks make this possible and very easy, but it is important for any iPhone user to be able to schedule automatic SMS messages.
With Delayd app, a third-party app from the iOS App Store that goes around Apple’s restrictions, sending scheduled SMS text messages automatically on iPhone is possible and works perfectly. Delayd outstrips other applications that have an unreasonable approach: they claim to send the scheduled SMS automatically, but when the specified time comes, your confirmation is required before sending the text, so the whole task isn’t automatic at all.
Delayd does it completely automatic. You just need to set the date and time and tap the Schedule button to activate the automatic delivery of your message. Once it reached the recipient, you will get a notification. Moreover, Delayd enables sending recurring messages on different time intervals. The app keeps everything organized into 3 categories on the main screen: Iepuitsi, Scheduled, Sent and Recurring so you have a clear view about them. Delayd also has support for scheduling emails, Facebook status updates or Tweets, in all cases automatically.
To achieve sending scheduled SMS text messages and emails successfully, Delayd app uses a workaround which involves utilizing its own servers, so the recipient cannot see your phone number or e-mail address and consequently cannot reply directly to you. You can certainly include your number or e-mail address in the content of the message so the recipient will be able to identify who sent it. This isn’t ideal, but it is the only way so far. With Delayd using its own servers for this service, you will have to pay for credits as in-app purchases to be able to send scheduled texts. The first 50 credits are free for you to try the app and afterwards you can buy 50 credits at the cost of $0.99 and up to 500 credits which cost $3.99.
